Yes, a large portion of your required hours can be completed online. However, state regulations require certain topics be completed in a live setting. Please view our New Mexico CE requirements page for details.
The NMREC requires the annual core course to be taken in an online live or classroom setting. We have partnered with Kaplan to offer a 10% discount on their core course which you can schedule and register for here. Please note the course is offered once a month in an online live format with an instructor leading the class.
All license renewal applications must be submitted online. Licensees will receive an email from NMREC approximately 2 months before their license expiration date with renewal instructions. An example of that email can be found here. Licensees must have met all of the Continuing Education requirements as noted in the Rules before submitting their renewal forms.
Licensees can turn in CE credit up to one year from expiration date.
If after one year of expiration date the licensee has failed to complete the CE the license will be inactive. Licensees will have to start from the beginning to reinstate their license, this includes taking the initial New Mexico salesperson exam.
Empire Learning is approved by the New Mexico Real Estate Commission to offer the courses shown above for continuing education credit for New Mexico real estate licensees. Each of the courses is individually approved and has a specific approval number that will be displayed on your completion certificate.
Note: New Mexico continuing education requirements recently changed. Renewals now require 4 hours of Core Elective and 4 hours of Ethics for every 3-year renewal cycle. Licensees will additionally be required to complete a mandated annual 4-hour CORE course in-person.
