Empire Learning courses offered in South Carolina are approved by the South Carolina Real Estate Commission for continuing education credit for South Carolina real estate licensees. 1.	Can I take classes online? Yes, the full continuing education requirements can be completed with online courses.
2.	Are there any limitations to how quickly I can complete my continuing education? The South Carolina Real Estate Commission requires a seat timer to ensure that courses cannot be completed in less time than the approved number of hours.
3.	What are the steps to renew my license? After completing the continuing education requirements, your license can be renewed online at https://llr.sc.gov/re/renewals.aspx.
4.	What happens if I don't renew my license in time? Licenses expire on June 30th and an expired licensee is considered unlicensed to practice real estate in South Carolina. After the June 30th expiration date, an additional $15 late fee will be assessed for each month it is late through December. After December 31st, the license is statutorily canceled and one must reapply/requalify.
